If you are not sure you are pregnant or know you have an unplanned pregnancy, your emotions may be all over the place. Your mind is probably racing and you don’t know what to do. Maybe you can’t think straight and you wonder if you will be able to manage? That is where Birthright fits in.
The main focus of Birthright is love in action. Birthright volunteers care about you and the welfare of every woman who walks through our door. We want you to feel welcomed, safe and loved.
The mission of Birthright is to provide you with a safe, quiet place to rest from the chaos of the situation and receive emotional support. All of our services are free.
You can get a free pregnancy test and talk about what the results mean. If the test is positive, we will listen without judgment to your concerns. You will not be told what you should or shouldn’t do. We can answer questions, and ask a few too, hoping to help you gather your thoughts. This is the time to think about your strengths and consider your support system. We encourage you to talk to those closest to you, those who love you unconditionally. If you don’t have anyone who loves you unconditionally, we promise to. We ask if we can keep in touch as you work through the decisions facing you. You are always welcome at the Birthright house for a visit, to pick out maternity clothes, baby things or just to chat.
A long-time Vancouver, Washington volunteer said, “I want women to know that from the time they walk in the door, to the time they leave, we love them the same.” Birthright volunteers strive to make you feel safe and secure.
A quick tour through our center
We are conveniently located at 214 E 17th St, Vancouver, WA 98663, just east of Main Street in Downtown Vancouver.
When you walk through the front door you will be greeted with a warm smile. You’ll be taken to a soothing room where we can sit and talk. We will ask how we can help and what your concerns are. If a free pregnancy test is needed it will be done. Stay as long as you need to. You can speak your mind.
Birthright is a pro-life, non-judgmental organization. We will do what we can to help you come up with a plan if that is what you need. We care about you and want to support you. Local resources are available. At the Birthright house we have maternity clothes as well as a new layette for your child and slightly used baby clothes up to size 2. This is a safe haven where you can come and get the support you need during a challenging time.
You never have to experience this alone.
