An 18-year-old came in and tested positive. Her boyfriend was gone and she didn’t feel she could provide for herself and baby. She thought that abortion would be all she could do. The volunteer talked with her about adoption options and encouraged her to discuss her pregnancy with her parents. She assured her that there would be plenty of time to figure things out. She expressed concern for her in the long term, especially the lasting and painful emotional consequences of abortion.
The volunteer followed up with a call a few days later. The end result — with help from her parents and Birthright, she can now see how to make it work so she can parent her baby herself.
Thank you so much for your support of Birthright and our mission of loving both, mother and child!
